In June 15, 2011 at the campus of Hanoi University of Mining and Geology, Atlas Copco Vietnam Co., Ltd held the ceremony to award scholarships to ten (10) students. The students from term K54 and K55 were selected based on their academic achievements and the need for additional funding to support their studies. Mr. David Anderson, Country Manager of Atlas Copco Vietnam Construction & Mining Technique (CMT), presented the Certificates and Scholarships to the value of USD 200 / student.

After the ceremony, Mr. Anderson and the Team of Specialists from Atlas Copco Vietnam introduced the complete product portfolio and the local and global reach and capabilities of Atlas Copco. Furthermore, they spent time explaining the performance of drilling and mining equipment and the techniques used in the industry in Vietnam and overseas, which captured the attention of students and professors in this field and resulted in an enthusiastic open question and answer session. Mr. Anderson went on to explain the career opportunities within Atlas Copco and presented the Apprenticeship Program at Atlas Copco Vietnam, where senior students could receive on-the-job training and exposure to new technologies used in the various industries.
Dr. Le Hai An, Vice Principal of the University Management, thanked Atlas Copco for their contribution and welcomed the positive approach presented by Atlas Copco and the offer to provide continuous support to the students and the university with regular technology updates, training and the opportunity for students to gain practical experience in the industry. He further commented that they looked forward to building a solid educational platform and partnership with Atlas Copco.
